"The end of January represents a new beginning for the Romanian Chamber System"

January 30, 2012 - Bucharest: The establishment of the Chambers of Commerce in Romania, in 1864, by Decree of Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza was celebrated through the annual reception honoring the members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Bucharest, as a memento of the strong influence exerted by the Great Powers of that time envoys to Bucharest in laying the foundations of modern trade in our country. For the fourth consecutive year, the National Chamber gathered in the Chandeliers Aula, within the Chamber of Commerce Palace, ambassadors and economic counselors, central government officials, presidents of County and Bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Industry, leading businessmen and mass media representatives.

"The end of January represents a new beginning for the Chamber System, County Chambers, Bilateral Chambers and the National Chamber. 148 years ago, in 1864, the Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza, under the good and beneficial influence of that time Powers ambassadors accredited in Bucharest, promulgated the chambers of commerce law in Romania. And since then, we exist", said H.E. the President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, Attorney-at-Law Mihail M. Vlasov, in the opening of the Gala.

"In times of difficulty, businessmen have the power and duty to unite and revive the economy. I believe that only through unity and cooperation between our countries, we will succeed to set in motion the machine that generates jobs and prosperity in countries striving to overcome the crisis, such as Romania", said the businessman Ion Ţiriac, honorary member of the National Chamber. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania - CCIR, apolitical and nongovernmental organization, is "the place where we can find a light, where politicians fail to find it", concluded the businessman his intervention.

The Court of International Arbitration attached to CCIR is prepared to ensure businessmen, interested in entering the Romanian market, law compliance in  the carrying out of contracts and property protection. "Our duty is to support the business environment", reassured those present the President of the Court, Mr. Bogdan Olteanu.

Bucharest, December 8th, 2011: A total of 33 Bilateral Chambers of Commerce received from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania the official certification at an event held in Chandeliers Hall at the Chamber of Commerce Palace.
