The Annual Reception in Honor of the Diplomatic Corps Members Accredited to Bucharest

The promulgation of the Chambers of Commerce Law by Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza in 1864, under the influence of great Powers ambassadors accredited to Bucharest at that time, is an occasion of meeting between the Chamber System and the members of the Diplomatic Corps.

For the fourth consecutive year, the National Chamber offers a reception at the Chandeliers Hall of the Chamber of Commerce Palace, in which are invited ambassadors and economic advisers, senior officials of central government, Presidents of County and the Bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Industry, businessmen and media representatives.

"We want this meeting of the business community with the diplomatic corps representatives accredited in Bucharest to become a tradition", said HE the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, Mr. Mihail M. Vlasov.

The meeting of the Chamber of Commerce on January 28, 1868 marks, in fact, when the first elected president, Miron S. Vlasto, made the oath of allegiance to the officials and leading merchants of that time, but also in the presence of foreign chancelleries emissaries represented in Bucharest, which supported the legislative initiative. This historic landmark confirms the important role of economic diplomacy undertaken by the System of the Chambers of Commerce in supporting the Romanian business community and attracting foreign investment.

The Gala reception given in honor of the diplomatic corps members accredited in Bucharest starts at the Chandeliers Hall from the Chamber of Commerce Palace, at 18:30 o’clock.
